RESOLUTION NO. 768
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY \
OF ARROYO GRANDE OF INTENTION TO ANNEX UNIN-
HABITED TERRITORY KNOWN AS "BRIGHTON STREET
ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
desires to initiate proceedings to annex the hereinafter described
property and,
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the
County of San Luis Obispo has, by its Resolution No. 67-19 of
September 14, 1967 approved without condition the annexation of
the hereinafter described property to the City of Arroyo Grande;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Arroyo Grande that
(1) The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does
hereby give notice that it has initiated proceedings
to annex the hereinafter described property into the
City of Arroyo Grande for the reason that said pro-
perty is an isolated segment of a street adjacent
to the City of Arroyo Grande and can best be main-
tained by said City and furthermore, it is in the
best interest of the city street planning that the
hereinafter described property be included within
the City;
(2) The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande will
hear written protest against the annexation of
said property into the City of Arroyo Grande at
8:00 P.M. on the 24th day of November, 1967.
(3) The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this Resolution
to be published pursuant to Section 35311 of th~
Government Code of the State of California.
Said property hereinafter referred to as "Brighton Street
Annexation" is described as follows:
Bei.ng a portion of Brighton Avenue, as shown on
the map of the Town of Grover recorded November
23, 1892, in Book A of Maps at Page 6, in the
office of the County Recorder, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Block 53 of
said Town of Grover and a point on the city limits
of the City of Arroyo Grande; thence South 860 45'
East along the Northerly line of said Block 53,
335.00 feet to a point on the city limits of the
City of Grover City; thence along said city limits
of the City of Grover City, Northerly to a point
on the Southerly line of Block 49 of said Town
of Grover; thence North 860 45' West along said
Southerly line of said Block 49 to the Southwest
corner thereof; thence Southerly across said
Brighton Avenue to the point of beginning.
On motion of Councilman Levine, secGnded by Councilwoman
T.hompson, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine,
Schlegel, Burt and Mayor Wood

the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 10th day of
October, 1967.
