RESOLUTION NO. 71 I
A RESOULTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANOE FIXING THE TIME AND
PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING IN THE MATTER OF THE AQOPTION OF
THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, three(3) copies of that certain document entiPed "Arroyo
Grande Municipal Code", including the Appendix thereto, have been filed
and are on file in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection,
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has introduced a
proposed ordinance to adopt said Code as a comprehensive ordinance Code
for the City of Arroyo Grande in accordance with the provisions of Arti-
cle 2 of Chapter I of Part I of Division 1 of Title 5 of the Government
Code of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, Section 50022.3 of the Government Code of the State of
California provides that after the first reading of the title of an
ordinance adopting a comprehensive Ordina~ce Code by reference and the
title of the secondary codes therein adopted by reference, the legisla-
t i ve body sha I I schedule a public hearing thereon,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does re-
solve as follows:
SECTION 1. The 13th day of September, 1966, at 8:00 P. M.
in the Counci I Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Arroyo Grande,
State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for the
publ ic hearing in the matter of the adoption of the Arroyo Grande
Mun i ci pa I Code.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notices
of said hearing twice in the Herold-Recorder, once at least .eight (8)
days preceding the hearing, and once at least fifteen (15) days preceding
the hearing. Said notice shall state the time and place .of the hearing.
It shall also state that copies of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code and
copies of the secondary codes being considered for adoption are on file
in the office of the City Clerk and are open to publ ic inspection. Said
notice shall also contain the following description to give notice to
interested persons of the purpose of the ordinance and the subject matter
thereof:
The Council of the City of Arroyo Grande proposes to adopt an
ordinance adopting the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code which consists of
a compilation and functional arrangement of the valid, existing, and
effective ordinances of the City of Arroyo Grande, .The Code const i tutes
a codification of existing ordinances and does not include new or addi-
tional laws or regulations. Only such restatements and substantive
changes to the existing ordinances as are necessary for clarity have
been made in the comprehensive ordinance Code. The Code consists of ten
(10) titles covering the following subjects: general provisions; admin-
istration; finance; public safety; public welfare; morals, and conduct;
sanitation and health; public works; building regulations; planning and
zoning; and parks and recreation.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution; shall cause the same to be entered among the original reso-
lutions of the City of Arroyo Grande; and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the
City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
On motion by Councilwoman Thompson, seconded by Councilman Levine
and on the following roll call vote. to-witt:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel, Burt and
Mayor Wood.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The foregoing Resolution was adopted this 9th day of August, 1966.
