RESOLUTI ON NO. 709 I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I
ARROYO GRANOE ADOPTING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF I
THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has prepared a general
plan report together with a general plan map entitled the "Land Use Element of the
General Plan" and did al1 things legally and technically required by law to develop
a report and map adequate I n scope and author I ty to serve the purposes of a genera 1
plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65501 et seq. the City Counci 1
gave required notice and did hold publ ic hearings on February 21st and July 12,
1966, for the purpose of considering the adoption of the Land Use Element of the
General Plan report and map, and at which public hearings the Land Use Element and
report and map were displayed, expiained and reported 6pon; and
WHEREAS, said Land Use Element of the General Plan report and map thereof are
necessary for sound future community development, the preservation of community
values, and the promotion of the general health, safety, convenience and welfare
of the citizens of the City of Arroyo Grande; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has responsibility to
plan for the deslreable future growth and development of the City of Arroyo Grande;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande, after holding
the required public hearing did adopt the report and map of said Land Use Element
of the General Plan.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does hereby find and
de term I ne that the pub II c i nteres t, conven I ence and necess I ty requ I re that the
land Use Element of the General Plan report and map be adopted.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does hereby adopt the
Land Use Element of the General Plan together with the maps and descriptive mat-
erial.
On motion of Councilman Burt, seconded by Councilwoman Thompson and on the
following roll call vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel and Burt
NOES: Mayor Wood
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 26th day of July, 1966.
