ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE TO AMEND CHAPTER 4
OF TITLE 8 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT BY
REFERENCE THE 1979 UNIFORM HOUSING CODE: REPEAL OF ALL
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: Chapter 4 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code
is amended to read as follows:
, Section 8-4.01 ADOPTION OF UNIFORM HOUSING CODE
l For the purposes of providing minimum standards to safeguard life or
limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controling the use and
occupancy, location and maintenance of all residential buildings and structures,
that certain Code known as the Uniform Housing Code, 1979 Edition, published by the
International Conference of Building Officials, 5360 South Workman Mill Road,
Whittier, California, 90601, three (3) copies of whIch have been filed for use and
examination by the public in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted by
reference and made a part of this chapter as though set forth in this chapter
in full, subject, ,however, to the amendments, ad'ditions and deletions set forth
in th i s chapter, and sa i d Code sha 11 be known as the "Hous i ng Code" for the City
of Arroyo Grande.
Section 2: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances which are in conflict
with the provisions of this chapter are hearby repealed.
Section 3: In any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this chapter is, for any reasons. held to be unconstitutional or legally
ineffective, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this chapter.
On the motion of Council Member Smith, seconded by Council Member
Vandeveer, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Smith, Hogan, Millis, Vandeveer, and Mayor Pope
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing ordinance was passed and adopted this 12th 1980.
