ORDINANCE NO. 145 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
CHAPTER 5, TITLE 8 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROVIDE FOR ADOPTION OF THE 1976 EDITION
OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND REPEALING SECTION
.14, .17 and .18 OF SAID CHAPTER 5, TITLE 8.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Chapter 5 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
Section 8-5.01. Adoption of Uniform Plumbing Code.
For the purposes of governing and controlling the Installation, alteration,
repair, and inspection of, and the issuance of permits for, all plumbing and
drainage systems in the City, that certain Code designated as the "Uniform
Plumb i ng Code", 1976 Ed it i on, pub I i shed by the' I nternat i ana I Associ at ion of
Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, three (3) copies of which have been filed for
use and examination by the public in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby
adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter as though .set forth in
this chapter in full, subject, however, to the amendments, additions, and
deletions set forth in this chapter, and said Code shall be known as the
lip I umb i ng Code" for the City.
SECTION 2: Sections 8-5.14, 8-5.17 and 8-5.18 are hereby repealed.
SECTI ON 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances which are in conflict
with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of
this chapter is, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional or legally
ineffectIve, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this chapter.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after its passage, and within fifteen (IS) days after its passage, it shall
be published once, together with the names of the Councilmen voting thereon, in
the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
On motion of Councilman Spierling, seconded by Councilman Gallagher and
on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Spierling, Gallagher, Schlegel, Millis and Mayor de Leon
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted this 23rd day of November, 1976.
