ORDINANCE NO. 144 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
CHAPTER 4, TITLE 8 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROVIDE FOR ADOPTION OF THE 1976 EDITION
OF THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE AND REPEALING SECTION
.02 OF SAID CHAPTER 4, TITLE 8.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 4 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code
is amended to read as follows:
Section 8-4.01. Adoption of Uniform Housing Code.
For the purposes of providing minimum requirements for the protection
of life, limb, health, property, safety, and welfare of the general public
and the owners and occupants of residential buildings, that certain Code
des i gnated as the "Un i form Bu i ld i ng Code, Va I ume 3, Hous i ng", 1976 Ed it i on,
published by the International Conference of Building Officials, three (3)
copies of which have been filed for use and examination by the public in the
office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of
this chapter as though set forth in this chapter in full, subject, however,
i to the amendments, additions, and deletions set forth in this chapter, and
sai d Code sha 11 be known as the "Hous i ng Code" for the City.
SECTI ON 2: Section 8~4.02 is hereby repealed.
SECT! ON 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances which are in conflict
with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of
this chapter is, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional or legally
ineffective, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this chapter.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thl rty (30)
days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after Its passage, it shall
be published once, together with the names of the Councilmen voting thereon, in
the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
On motion of Councilman Gallagher, seconded by Spierling and
on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Spierling, Gallagher, Schlegel, Millis and Mayor de Leon
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted this 23rd day of November, 1976.
