ORDINANCE NO. 143 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
CHAPTER I, TITLE 8 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROVIDE FOR ADOPTION OF THE 1976 EDITION OF
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE AND REPEALING SECTIONS
.11, .12 and .13 OF SAID CHAPTER I, TITLE 8.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTI ON 1: Chapter 1 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
Section 8-1.01. Adoption of Uniform Building Code.
For the purposes of regulating the erection, construction, enlargement,
alteration, repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy,
equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of buildings and structures in
the City, the issuance of permits, and the collection of fees therefor, and
declaring and establishing fire districts, that certain Code designated as the
"Un i form Bu i I ding Code", 1976 Ed i t i on, pub I i shed by the I nternat i ana I Conference
of Building Officials, three (3) copies of which have been filed for use and
examination by the public in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted
by reference and made a part of this chapter as though set forth in this
chapter in full, subject, however, to the amendments, additions, and deletions
set forth in this chapter, and said Code shall be known as the "Building Code"
for the City.
SECTION 2: Sections 8-1.11,8-1.12 and 8-1.13 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances which are in conflict
with the provisions of this chapter are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: If any section; subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of
this chapter is, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional or legally
ineffective, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this chapter.
SECT! ON 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall
be publ ished once, together with the .names of the Counc:i 1 men voting thereon, in
the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
On motion of Councilman Spierling, seconded by Councilman Gallagher and
on the following roll call vote, to wit:

ABSENT: None
the foregoing Ordinance was passed and is 23rd day of November, 1976.
