R 0676 ""- RESOLUTION NO. 6]6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE SUPPORTING THE SCENIC HIGHWAY 1 COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION ON THE RELOCATION OF HIGHWAY I. WHEREAS, the Scenic Highway 1 Committee in the Five Cities Area of South San Luis Obispo County have met and considered the proposed re-routing of High- way I and have adopted a resolution in connection therewith, and WHEREAS, said resolution was presented to the Arroyo Grande City Council and was generally approved by said Counci I. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande as follows: That Highway I, from Oregon to Mexico, exclusive of metmpol itan a rea 5 ~ be incorporated into the State Scenic Highway System. That Highway I fol low essentially its present route through Pismo Beach, Grover City and Oceano, but be upgraded to and maintained a5 a First CI~ss Highway, That immediate action be taken to eliminate the scenic gap in Hiqhway I through San Luis Obispo County by re-routing it through Morro Bay State Park, Rancho Montana De Oro to Avi 103 Beach, onward overHs present route. On motion by Councilman Burt, seconded by Councilman McNeil, and on the fol lowing rol I call vote, to-wi t: AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, McNeil, Burt and Mayor Wood NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 28th day of December, 1965.
