RESOLUTION NO. 613
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE, ABANDON
AND CLOSE A PORTION OF LE POINT TERRACE AND A
PORTION OF RENA STREET IN THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE, C01,JNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, there now exists in the City of Arroyo Grande, County
of San Luis Obispo, State of California, a portion of LePoint Terrace
hereinafter more particularly described, and a portion of Rena Street
hereinafter more particularly described, which portions of said
streets are what are generally known as a upaper streetU, not having
been opened to public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to
proceed with the vacation, abandonment and closing of said streets
pursuant to Section 8320 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the said portion of said LePoint Terrace
and said portion of said Rena Street is unnecessary for present or
prospective public street purposes; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the abandonment and closing of said
portion of said streets is for the best interests of the public,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Arroyo Grande that it intends to abandon and close the hereinafter
described portion of LePoint Terrace and the hereinafter described
portion of Rena Street in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San
Luis Obispo, State of California. For this purpose, the City Council
will hold a hearing in connection with said intention to vacate, aban-
don and close the hereinafter described portion of LePoint Terrace
and the hereinafter described portion of Rena Street, which hearing
will be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, in the City
of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California,
on the 28th day of April, 1964, at the hour of B :00 P.M. At said
time, those persons interested in or objecting to the PI[) posed
vacation, abandonment and closing of said streets may appear and be
heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo
Grande be, and. she is herewith directed. to cause to be posted. along
that portion of LePoint Terrace hereinafter described, and along that
portion of Rena Street hereinafter described, at intervals not to
exceed three hundred (300) feet in distance apart and at least three
(3) in number on said_streets, notices of passage of Resolution, which
said notices shall be entitled "Notice of intention to vacate, abandon,
and close a portion of LePoint Terrace{ in the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo, State of Ca ifornia, tt and "Notice of
intention to vacate, abandon and close a portion of Rena Street, in
the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of
California".
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and
directed to cause a copy of said Resolution to be published. at least
once in the Herald..Record.er, a weekly newspaper published. and circu-
lated. in the City of Arroyo Grande, which publication shall be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date of said hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of LePoint Terrace which
the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate
abandon and close is described as follows, to..wit: '
That portion of LePoint Terrace bei ng 40 r i1i.('width and
contigious to lots 11, 12, 13, 14 and the northwesterly half
of lot 10 (the southeasterly line of said northwesterly half
being parallel with the northwesterly line of lot 10) all in
block 35 of Beckett r,s Crown Hill Addition to the Town of Arroyo
Grande, in the city of Arroyo Grande, county of San Luis Obispo,
State of California, as shown on map filed, in book A, page 57,
of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of said County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of Rena Street which
the City ' Council of the_City of Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate,
abandon and close is described as follows, to-wit:
That portion of Rena Street, in the City of Arroyo
Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, as
shown on the Map of the Western Addition to the Town of Arroyo
Grande filed for record April 10, 1894 in Book B at Page 10 of
Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of said County; being
bounded on the Northeast by that portion of the Southwest line of
Lot 1 in Block 11 of said Western Addition having a bearing of
South 23003r East and a length of 115.98 feet; being bounded on
the South by the production of the Northerly line of Walnut
Avenue, (now known as Bennett Street) and bounded on the West
by the production of Cienega Street (now known as Halcyon Raad).
Further particulars as to the proposed vacations are shown
on the maps pertain~g thereto on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande.
On motion of Councilman Jacobs , seconded by
Councilman McNeil , and on the following roll-call
vote, to_wit: AYES: Councilmen McMillen, Woo., McNeil, Jacobs and Mayor Burt
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 10th day of March 1964.
