RESOLUTION NO. 592
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE RElATIVE
TO THE TIME AND METHOD OF PAYING SAlARIES AND WAGES
OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES THEREOF.
WHEREAS, at the present time, wages and salaries for officers
and employees of the City of Arroyo Grande, are paid each first and
fifteenth day of each month; and
WHEREAS, it appears desirable that wages and salaries paid to
officers and employees, of the City of Arroyo Grande, be paid Bi-
weekly, to-wit, every other Friday; and
WHEREAS. it is provided in Section 37,206 of the Government
Code of the State of California, that the legislative body of a City
may, by Resolution, prescribe the time and method of paying salaries
and wages of officers and employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the wages and salaries due
any and all officers and employees of the City of Arroyo Grande,
be paid as follows:
When the same are due and payable on a monthly basis, said
wage and/or salary shall be paid on the first Bi-weekly pay period
of each and every calendar month.
When said wage and/orrsalary is due and payable Bi-weekly,
then said payments shall be made every other Friday of every
calendar month.
Provided further, that in the event, the bi-weekly pay period
shall fall on a holiday, then the payment of the wage shall be made
at the discretion of the City Administrator of said City. Payment
on account of wages and/or salaries of officers and employees shall
be made in accordance with and based upon certification or approval
of departmental payroll or attendance record for employees made by
the various department heads. Said payrolls or attendance records
shall be certified or approved by the City Clerk and/or City Admin-
istrator and such payrolls as are made therefrom shall be presented
to the legislative body for ratification and approval at the first
meeting of said body after the delivery of the payroll warrants
issued as hereinabove provided.
