RESOLUTION NO. 582
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE RECOMMENDING MINIMUM SUBDIVISION
STANDARDS WITHIN THREE MILES OF THE CITY LIMITS
WHEREAS, the County of San Luis Obispo is considering minimum
road and subdivision improvement standards for adoption by the County
Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, Section 11528 of the State Subdivision Map Act permits
cities to make recommendations to the County governing subdivisions
within three miles of the City limits; and
WHEREAS, some, if not all, of the subdivisions created adjacent
to the City will be eventually annexed to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is reluctant to annex and thereby accept for
maintenance County roads and off-site improvements below minimum City
standards; and
WHEREAS, the road and subdivision improvement standards recommended
by the County Public Works Department are substantially the same except
in some respects more lenient than the existing City standards;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Arroyo Grande go on record with the County Board of Supervisors as
recommending that said County adopt road and subdivision improvement stand-
ards within three miles of the City limits equivalent to those In effect
in the City of Ar~oyo Grande, but in no event more lenient than those
submitted by the County Public Works Department.
On motion of Councilman NcNeil, seconded by Councilman Jacobs,
and on the following roll call vote;
AYES: Councilmen Lee, NcNeil, Jacobs and Mayor Burt
NOES: Councilman Wood
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 23rd day of April, 1963.
