R 0386 , .------1 ). - i . .- I / ," 1/ . it .~ ....#/ i i RESOLUTION NO. .sl'b A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE $th DAY OF APRIL, 1958, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 8th day of April, 1958, for the election of two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the state of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, on Tuesday, the 8th day of April, 1958, a regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing two (2) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years. Section 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may I be required by law to be used thereat. Section 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and '- - , . , all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equip- ment and paraphenalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. Section 4-. That for the purpose of holding said regular general munioipal election, there shall be and lB, hereby established one (1) voting precinct consisting (of consolidations) of the regular election precincts Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in the City of Arroyo Grande established for t he holding of state and county elections, as said regular election precinct. exist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That the polling places for the respeotive precincts shall be the place hereinafter designated; and, that the persons and residents of said city and of their respective voting precinct are hereby appoint- ed officers of election for said respective voting precinct and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provid- ed by law. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A.M., of the day of said election, and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M., of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in 5action 5734 of the Eleotions Code of the State of California. Section 7. That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, said election shall be held and conduoted as provided by - 2 - -- . , , ) / law for holding municipal elections in said City. That notice of the time and place of hold- ing said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby author- ized, instructed and directed to give such further or ad'ditional notice of said election in time, form and manner as required by law. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said, City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. Section 10. That this Resolution shall take effect im- mediately.
