WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, has received
requests Crom persons owning preperty 4ing within the terri-
torial limits of the hereinafter described parcel ef property
Cor annexation of said property to the City of Arroyo Grande;
and
WHEREAS, it appears desirable to the said City Council
of the City of Arroyo Grande, to anRex the hereinafter describ-
ed parcel of real property to the City ,of Arroyo Grande, said
property being contiguous to said City; and
WHEREAS, the said property is uninhabited property within
the ~ng of Section 35303 of the Government Code of the State
of California; and
~HKKEAS, the said City Council of the City~ Arroyo Grande
desires to proceed with the matter of annexation on its own
motion as provided in Section 35310 oC the Government Code of
the State of California. The Council desires to proceed with
said annexation for the fol~owing,reasonsl
1. Because the owners "of the property constituting the ,
entire parcel hereinafter described desire annexation. I
2. Because the inclusion of said property within the
City Limits will enable said property to be 'better serviced
with municipal utilities and provided with police and fire ser- ,

vice thus enlarging protect;on to the i..ediate4 adjacent areas
of the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cit7 Council oC the
City oC Arroyo Grande, County oC SaR Lais Obispo, state of
California, that the hereinafter described real property be an- I

nexed to the City of Arroyo Grande, and that all necessary
steps be taken to consummate this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the hereinafter described
property shall be designated as follows, to-wits
"FAIR OAKS NO.1"
said parcel of property being centiguous to the present City
Limits of the City of Arroyo Grande.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that on the(21st day of Kay,
1957, at the hour of 8 o'clock P.X.~ at the Council Chambers
of the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande, in the City
Hall in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo,
State of California, a hearing will be held, at which time,
owners of property lying within the 1i.its of the hereinafter
described parcel of property, and any others who may be inter_
ested, may appear and show cause, if any they have, why the
hereinafter desoribed parcel of real property should not be
ennexed to the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo,
State of California. Protests may be made in writing prior to
the hearing or in writing or orally at the time and place of
hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
shall be published at least once a week for two (2) Suooessive
weeks before the hearing on the matter of the annexation here-
inabove mentioned. Publication of said Resolution shall be
in the Herald-Recorder, a weekly newspaper published and cir-
ou1ated in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo,
State of California, and in the Telegram-Tribune, a newspaper
published in the County of San Luis Obispo, and outside of the
City of Arroyo Grande.
The property proposed to be annexed to the said City of
Arroyo Grande, and designated as "FAIR OAKS NO.1", is described
as follows, to-wit:

Beginning at the Southeast corner of Block 5 of the Fair
Oaks Tract in the County of San Luis Obispo, State of
California, according to the map recorded November 18, 192fi) ,
in Book 3 of }!aps, at page 82, records of said County,
and proceeding thence East a distance of 60 feet to a point
on the Easterly line of Alder Street; thence along said
easterly line North a distance of 332.60 feet toa point;
thence leaving said Easterly line of Alder Street West a
distance of 60 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 3, Block
5 of said Fair Oaks Tract; thence continuing along the North
line of said Lot 3 West a distance of 330.4 feet to the North_
west corner of said Lot 3; thence along the West line of said
Lot 3 South a distance of 120.87 feet to the South line of
said Lot 3; thence along the South line of said Lot 3 East a
distance of 133 feet to a point; thence South a distance of
120.87 feet to a point on the North line of Lot 1; thence
West along said North line of Lot 1 a distance of 58 feet
to a point; thence South a distance of 90.86 feet to a point
on the South line of said Lot 1; thence East along said South
line of Lot 1 a distance 255.40 feet to the point of begin-
ning. Containing 2.455 acres more or less.
