WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande has heretofore con-
veyed to the Womens' Club of Arroyo Grande certain real pro-
perty which said property was to be used by said Womens' Club
of Arroyo ~rande for limited purposes; and
WHEREAS, the state of California by its Division of.High-
ways has sought to acquire certain portions of said property
for use by it in the construction of a highway; and
WHEREAS, it has offered to pay to said Womens' Club cer-
tain sums of ~oney for said property; and
WHEREAS, it has requested the City of Arroyo Grande to
execute a Quitclaim Deed, in and to that portion of property
deeded by said City to said Womens' Club as is sought by said
Division of Highways; and
WHEREAS, the execution of said Quitclaim Deed is a neces-
sary part and portion of the transaction between said Womens'
Club and the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the Womens' Club of Arroyo Grande by its presi-
dent, Mrs. Carl Carlson, Jr., has under date of April 16, 1954,
confirmed in writing that said organization will retain all
funds by it from the sale of property previously acquired from
the City to be placed in'.a special fund marked for Club House
Building purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as
follows:
That the City of Arroyo Grande does herewith agree to
execute a Quitclaim Deed to that portion of the property being
acquired by the State of California from the Womens' Club of
Arroyo Grande and the Mayor of the City of Arroyo Grande is
herewith authorized and directed to execute the Quitclaim Deed
for such property in favor of the state of California.
