RESOLUTION NO. ~ 7 g
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE RELATIVE
TO THE TIME AND METHOD OF PAYING SALARIES AND WAGES
OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES THEREOF.
WHEREAS, at the present time, wages and salaries for officers
and employees of the city of Arroyo Grande, are paid only after the
warrants issued therefor have been approved at a meeting of the
Council on the first Wednesday of each month; and
WHEREAS, on many occasions, the first Wednesday of each month
c'omes several days after the" first of the month; and
WHEREAS, it appears desirable that wages and salaries paid to
officers and employees, of the City of Arroyo Grande, be paid semi-
monthly, to_wit, on the 1st and 15th day of each calendar month; and
WHEREAS, it is provided in Section 37,206 of the Government
Code of the State of California, that the legislative body of a City
may, by Resolution, prescribe the time and method of paying salaries
and wages of officers and employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the wages and salaries due
any and all officers and employees of the City of Arroyo Grande,
be paid as follows:
When the same are due and payable on a monthly basis, said
wage and/or salary shall be paid on the 1st day of each and every
calendar month.
When said wage and/or salary is due and payable ami-month1y, '
then said payments shall be made on the 1st and 15th of each and
every calendar month.
Provided further, that in the event, the 1st or the 15th of the
calendar month shall fail upon a Sunday, then the payment of the wage
shall be made on the 1st day following such date upon which no holi-
day exists. Payment on account of wages and/or salaries of officers
and employees shall be made in accordance with and based upon cer-

tificatien or approval of departmental payroll or attendance re-
cord for employees made by the various department heads. Said pay-
rolls or attendance records shall be certified or approved by the
City Clerk and such payrolls as are made therefrom shall be pre_
sented to the legislative body for ratification and approval at
the first meeting of said body after the delivery of the payroll
warrants issued as hereinabove provided.
