RESOLUTION NO. 3258
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
UPHOLDING THE APPEAL BY CALVARY CHAPEL CHURCH THAT A
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT IS NOT NEEDED FOR A SKATEBOARD USE AT
1133 MAPLE STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has considered the appeal
by Calvary Chapel Church of a Planning Commission Interpretation requiring a
conditional use permit for a skateboard facility, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on the appeal in accordance
with law; and
WHEREAS, Calvary Chapel Church located at 1133 Maple Street was approved in
1982 through Use Permit No. 82-340; and
WHEREAS, the uses approved by Use Permit No. 82-340 were church services, bible
studies, youth fellowship, and Sunday school; and
WHEREAS, Use Permit No. 82-340 identified the maximum number of people
attending anyone church activity was approximately 150 people; and
WHEREAS, a skateboard use is encompassed by and a part of the youth fellowship
use permitted in Use Permit No. 82-340; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande hereby determines that a conditional use permit is not needed to operate a
skateboard facility at 1133 Maple Street and upholds the appeal of the Planning
Commission interpretation.
On motion by Council Member Lady , seconded by Council Member Runels ,
and by the following roll call vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lady, Runels, and Mayor Dougall
NOES: Council Member Tolley
ABSENT: Council Member Fuller

the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 25th day of November, 1997.
