ORDINANCE NO. 82 C.S,
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
TITLE 10 OF THE ARROYO GRk'\fDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING CHAPTER 4 THERETO ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN
MALL ON A PORTION OF SHORT STREET PURSUANT TO
CALIFORNIA STREETS & HIGHWAYS CODE SECTION 11600,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Title l~ of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code is amended by
adding Chapter 4 thereto to read as follaoffi:
10-4.01. A pedestrian mall is hereby established over
property within the City of Arroyo Grande generally described as
the 87 feet of Short Street lying 123 feet South of the South
property line of Branch Street.
10-4,02. Vehicular traffic shall be prohibited over the
above-described pedestrian mall with the following exceptions:
1. Emergency police vehicles;
2. Emergency ambulance vehicles;
3. Emergency fire vehicles;
4. Arroyo Grande City vehicles used for
hauling or repair work, maintenance and hauling,
following approval of the Arroyo Grande City
Council. .
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall
be published once, together with the names of the Councilmen voting thereon, in
the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
On motion of Councilman Millis, seconded by Councilman Wood and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Millis, Talley, Wood and Mayor Schlegel
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman de Leon
the foregoing ordinance was passed and adopted this 24th qay of April, 1973.
