O 074 C.S. -- - ) t .-- ORDINANCE NO. 74 C.S. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE 8 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS 8, 9 AND 10 THERETO RELATING TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE. THE CITY COUNCtL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Section 8 is added to Chapter 1 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code to read as follows: Section 8-1.08. Section 303(B) of Volume 1 of the Uniform Building Code above referred to is amended by deleting the sum of $1,000.00 and substituting in its place the sum of $2,000.00. SECTION 2: Section 9 is added to Chapter 1 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code to read as follows: Section 8-1. 09. Section 2629 of Volume 1 of the Uniform Building Code above referred to is amended by adding the following thereto: "Where concrete slab floor on grade construction is used and slabs are not poured monolithic with footings, there shall be placed vertically in all perimeter footings 3/8" deformed steel reinforcing bars, spaced two (2) feet center to center. These bars shall be bent inward and tied by the 6 x 6 - 10 x 10 wire mesh slab reinforcing prior to pouring the slab. Vapor barriers shall not extend over bearing surfaces of the perimeter footings or stem walls. When floor slabs and footings are poured monolithic, the 3/8" diameter vertical reinforcing may be omitted. All building slabs shall have a minimum 6 x 6 - 10 x 10 wire mesh reinforcing and vapor barrier." SECTION 3: Section 10 is added to Chapter 1 of Title 8 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code to read as follows: Section 8-1.10. Section 2905 (D) of Volume 1 of the Uniform Building Code above referred to is amended by adding the following thereto: "Not less than one continuous deformed steel reinforcing bar, of at least one-half inch (1/2") in diameter, shall be 'placed in all footings. Where foundation walls are used, at least one additional bar shall be placed not less than three inches (3") nor more than six inches (6") from the top of said walls. Bars shall be held in place by chairs and/or tying." SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall be published once, together with the names of the Councilmen voting thereon, in the Five Cities Times-Press-Recorder.
