O 072 C.S. ! . - . ..::::J ORDINANCE NO. 72 C~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 . OF TITLE 2 OF I1lli ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR CREATION OF AN ADVISORY PARKING AND TRAFFIC COMMISSION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Chapter 7 of Title 2 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: Section 2-7.01. Created: Membership. A Parking and Traffic Commission for the City is hereby created. The Parking and Traffic Commission shall consist of three (3) members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council. The members shall be qualified electors of the City of Arroyo Grande. Section 2-7.02. Terms of Office: Vacancies. Of the members of the Parking and Traffic Commission first appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year, one shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years, and one shall be appointed for a term of three (3) if years. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years. If a vacancy shall occur otherwise than by expiration of term, the Mayor, with the.approval of the Council, shall appoint a qualified person for the unexpired portion of the term. Se.ction 2-7,03. Meetings. The Parking and Traffic Commission shall meet at least once every six (6) months upon a day, at a time, and in a place designated from time to time by resolutions adopted by the Council and at such other times as the Commission may deem necessary or advisable. Section 2-7.04. Powers and Duties. The Parking and Traffic Commission shall have the powers, duties, juris- diction, and authority all as now or hereafter provided. and, in addition, shall have the following powers and duties: (a) To act in an advisory capacity to the Council in all matters pertaining to vehicle parking districts established within the City; (b) To serve in an advisory capacity to the Council and the City Administrator in all matters pertaining to public off-street and on- street vehicle parking; (c) To serve in an advisory capacity to the Council in matters relating to traffic problems and the solution thereof; (d) To make recommendations to the Council and the City Administrator with respect to the provisions in the annual budget for public vehicle parking facilities; (e) To prepare and recommend to the Council and the City Administrator policies for the acquisition, development and improvement of public parking facilities; and (f) To perform such other duties relating to vehicle parking and traffic matters as may be prescribed by the Council.
