O 215 - . - OROINANCE NO. 215 AN ORD I NANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANOE ADOPTI NG THE 1965 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE 1965 EDITION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That certain document In book form, entitled "Uniform Electrical Code, 1965 Edition" Is hereby adopted by reference thereto as though set forth herein In full, save and except as hereIn amended,added to or altered. Said Uniform Electrical Code and the prov/sons thereof shall, except as herein amended, added to or a I tered hereafter govern and contro 1 the I nsta llat lon, arrangement, alteration, rep.ir, maintenance, 6perationand Inspection of electrical wirIng, devices, appliances, fixtures and equipment, and shall make new inspections of all new electrical Installations as provided In this code, and the issuance of permits for all such electrical work In the City of Arroyo Grande. SECTI ON 2. Delete Fee Schedule from Section 3 of Uniform Electrical Code. ~ SECTION 3. Fees for Permits and Inspection -- Any person desiring an elect- rical permit shall, at the time of fil ing anappl ication therefor, pay a fee as required In this section. Add new sub-section to Section 6.-c of Uniform Electrical Code. 2. A through G Occupancies: a. . ,~ctrlcal wiring shall be installed In rigid metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, underfloor raceways of approved Insulating material, cell- ular metal floor raceways, surface metal raceway, wire ways, busways, and auxiliary gutters. b. Flexible metal conduit may be used where It Is Impractical to use any of the above methods, subject to the approval of the Building Inspector. ,~ ~ - 3. H Occupanci es a. Fire Zone # I as subsection C-2 b. Fire Zones No.2 and 3. In any building with five (5) or more dwelling units, flexible conduit may be used in place of rigid conduit. Four (4) units or less may be wired with any approved method which pro- vides continuous grounding. Any H or I occupancies that occupy a floor above an A through G occupan- cies shall be wired as the occupancy below. SECT! ON 5. Ordinance 91 or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent that they conflict herewith, repealed, SECT ION . This ordinance shall be In full force and effect thirty (30) days after Its passage 'and within fifteen (15) days after Its passage It shall be published once in the Arroyo Grande Herald-Recorder, a newspaper printed, pub- lished and circulated In the City of Arroyo Grande.
