ORDINANCE NO. 197 AN ORDINANCE OF THE Cl'IY OF ARROYO GRANDE CREATING THE OFFICE OF BUILDING OFf.IiCTALk AND AotPTlNG THE "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1964 EDITION" INCLUDING ALL PRESENT APPENDIXES EXCEPT CHAPTER 70 Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande, as follows: SECTION 1. The office of Building Inspector of the City of Arroyo Grande is hereby created, and the Building INspector is hereby authorized and directed to administer and enforce all the provisions of this Ordinance and of the building code hereinafter referred to and for such purpose, he shall have the powers of a police officer. SECTION 2. That a certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, 1964 Editi0n" induding all present appendixes except Chapter 70, and which said copies may be identified by the seal of the City of Arroyo Grande appearing thereon, be, and the same is for regulating the erection, enlargement, alteration. repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all building and/or structures in the City of Arroyo Grande; providing for issuance of building permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said "Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition," are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Ordinance, except such provisions as are modified hereinafter. SECTION 3. The Building Inspector shall be appointed by the City Council and shall hold office at the pl~asure of the City Council. The Building Inspector shall receive such salary as may be determined by resolution of the City Council. SECTION 4. The City Council may at any time, consolidate and place in charge of any other official of the City, the functions and duties of the Building Inspector. SECTION 5. Q~dinances Nos. 47, 69, 73, 77, 83 and 105 and all other ordinances Dr parts of ordinances of the City of Arroyo Grande in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its final passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall be published once in the Arroyo Grande Herald Recorder, a newspaper of general circulation, published in ahd circulated in the City of Arroyo Grande.
