ORDINANCE NO. 196
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE (ORDINANCE NO. 157> BY
ADDING TO SAID ORDINANCE NEW SECTIONS SETTING FORTH
PROVISIONS FOR PERMITTED USES
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande City Planning Commission is presently studying
and contemplates additional studies for the reviewing of the existing Arroyo
Grande Zoning Ordinance and P9ssible deficiencies thereto; and
WHEREAS, the regulations for allowance of permitted uses must be provided
for on an interim basis;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE does ordain as foll~ws:
SECTlON 1. Ordinance 157 of the City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "A ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE," is hereby amended by adding Subsection D
to Section 4.12 as follows:
D. Other uses, provided that their operation is not detrimental to
surrounding property, provided that when a Master Plan is adopted only
those uses which qualify in the zoning district which most closely conform
to the City's Master Plan of , Land Use be permitted for the specific area
involved, provided however that any use permit granted for any use not
specifically set out or listed shall be approved by the City Council.
SECTlON 2. Ordinance 157 of the City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "A ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE," is hereby amended by adding Subsection C
to Section 4.22 as follows:
C. Other uses, provided that their operation is not detrimental
to surrounding property, provided that when a Master Plan is adopted
only those uses which qualify in the zoning district which most closely
conform to the City's Master Plan of Land Use be permitted for the
specific area involved, provided however that any use permit granted
for any use not specifically set out or listed shall be approved by
the City Council.
SECTION 3. Ordinance 157 of the City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "A ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE," is hereby amended by adding Subsection B
to Section 4.32 as follows:
B. Other uses, provided that their operation is not detrimental
to surrounding property, provided that when a Master Plan is adopted
only those uses which qualify in the zoning district which most closely
conform to the City's Master Plan of Land Use be permitted for the
specific area involved, provided however that my use permit granted
for any use not specifically set out or listed shall be approved by
the City Council.
SECTION 4. Ordinance 157 of the City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE," is hereby amended by adding Subsection C
to Section 4.42 as follows:

area involved, provided however that any use permit granted for any use not
specifically set out or listed shall be approved by the City Council.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure,
necessary for the immediate~~rotection of the public health, safety and welfare
in the possible orderly development of certain properties within the City.
This ordinance shall be in force and effect immediately following its passage
and within fifteen (15) days after its passage it shall be published once, together
with the names of the Councilmen voting thereon, in the Arroyo Grande Herald-Recorder.
On motion of Councilman McNeil, seconded by Councilwoman Thompson, and on the
following roll call vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Wood, HcNeil, Burt and Mayor Jacobs
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Ordinance was adopted this 25th day of August, 1964.
