ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 80,
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, ENTITLED "LICENSING
AND REGULATING THE BUSINESS OF CONDUCTING OR
OPERATING CARD GAMES OR CARD TABLES AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF" PASSED AND
ADOPTED THE 21st DAY OF KARCH, 1945, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does or-
dain as follows:
Seotion 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 80 of the
City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "LICENSING AND REGULA-
TING THE BUSINESS OF CONDUCTING OR OPERATING CARD GAMES
OR CARD TABLES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF," passed and adopted the 21st day of Karch, 1945,
is herewith amended to read as follows, to-wit:
"Section 2.
a. It shall be unlawful to maintain or
operate any card game or card table between the
hours of 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.
b. The City Council may by Resolution, from
time to time, alter the hours during which the
maintenance and/or operation of card games or oard
tables shall be prohibited in the City of Arroyo
Grande. II
Section 2. If any section, sub-section, sentence,
-, -.,"., clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held
to be illegal and invalid, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this
ordinance and every part thereof irrespective of the fact
that anyone or more seotions, sua-sections, sentences,
clauses or phrases be declared illegal or invalid.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effeot thirty
(30) days following its final passage and within fifteen
(15) days thereafter, it shall be published once together
with the names of the Councilmen voting for and against it,
in the Herald Recorder, a news-paper of general circulation
published in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California.
