PRIVATE RESIDENCES BY SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS,
HAWKERS, ITINERMJT l\!ERCHA1~TS MiD TRANSIENT VENDORS
OF ~lCHfu~DISE AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR TflE
VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande does ordain
a*, follows:
SECTION L
The practice of going in and upon private residences in
the Town of Arroyo Grande, California, by solicitors, peddlers,

hawkers, itinerant merchants and transient vendors of merchandise

not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or
owners, occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the

. .~urpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and I
, ' .'
\" merchandise and/or for the purpose of disposing of and/or peddling

or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and
I
punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor. I
SECTION 2.

Any violation of this Ordinance shall be punishable by a
fine of not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars '(*300.00) or by
imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding three months or by
both such fine and imprisorunent.
SECTION 3.
I
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed. I

SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect thirty days after its final passage, and before the
expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be pub-
lished with the names of the members voting for and against the
same at least once in the Arroyo Grande Herald Recorder, a

said City of Arroyo Grande.
