AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
AND SUBKITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE THE QUESTION AS TO WHETHER THE CITY
CLERK OF SAID CITY SHALL HEREAFTER BE APPOINTED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL AND PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING
OF SUCH ELECTION.

SECTION 1. A Special JlWlicipal Election is hereby called
to be held in the City of Arroyo Grande, State' of California, on

purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City the
question. as to whether the City Clerk of said City shall hereafter
be appointed by the City COWlcil of said City of Arroyo Grande,
instead of being elected as now provided by law.

SECTION 2. The question so submitted shall be printed on
the ballots used at such election substantially as follows:

SECTION 3. For the purpose of holding and conducting said
election there shall be but one voting precinct, which precinct
shall consist of a consolidation of Arroyo Grande No. 1 Election
Precinct and Arroyo Grande No. 2 Election Precinct as said precincts
have been heretofore and now are established by the Board of Super-
visors of the COWlty or San Luis Obispo for the bolding and conducting
of state and cOWlty elections, and which said consolidated election ,
precinct shall be and hereby is designated as uConsolidated Voting
Precinct 'A' u, and shall include all of, and be included wi thin,
the corporate bOWldaries of the City of Arroyo Grande.
SECTION 4. The voting place for said Consolidated Voting
Precinct 'A' is hereby fixed at and shall be located at th. o1ty Hall

in said City.

SECTION 5. The following named persons, being competent
and qualified electors and residents of said City and of said
consolidated voting precinct, are hereby appointed as election
officers for the holding and conducting of said election, namely:

JUDGE: H.E.Cox.
CLERKS: Edna M.Schillin2.& Mae C,KAt.~h'm.
SECTION 6. The polls at said election shall be open between
the hours of :8;00 o'clock A. )I, and 1;00 o'clock P. M.,
except as otherwise provided by law.
SECTION 7, In all particulars not otherwise provided in
this ordinance, said election shall be held and conducted in the
manner provided for the holding, and conducting municipal elections
in said City and in accordance with the laws of the State of
California applicable thereto.
SECTION 8. This ordinance,after its passage and approval,
shall be published once in the Arroyo Grande Herald-Recorder, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in
said City, and being an ordinance calling an election shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Gran~e this ~~h day of November, 1935, by the following
