RESOLUTION NO. 3636
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
01= ARROYO ACCEPTING THE CERTIFICATES OF THE
COUNTY CLERK - RESULTS OF CANVASS OF ALL
VOTES CAST AT THE GeNERAL ELECTION HELD
NOVEMBER 5, 2002 IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE.
WHEREAS, on November 5, 2002, a General Election was held in the County of San
Luis Obispo and the City of Arroyo Grande; and,
WHEREAS, included on the ballot for said General Election was a listing of candidates
for one (1) Mayor and two (2) Members of the City Council, and one ballot measure
("Measure 0-02") for the City of Arroyo Grande in its scheduled General Municipal
Election; and,
WHEREAS, the San Luis Obispo County Clerk canvassed the retums of the votes cast ,
at said General Election held on November 5, 2002, and has certified the results;
copies of which are attached and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande does hereby accept the Certificates of the County Clerk- Results of Canvass of
All Votes Cast in the City's General Municipal Election appearing on the November 5,
2002 General Election Ballot.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to
each of the persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and
authenticated; that the City Clerk shall administer to each person elected the Oath of
Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of Califomia and shall have them
subscribe to it and file it in the Administrative Services Department. Each and all of the
persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have
been elected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the Book of Original Resolutions.
On motion by Council Member Lubin, seconded by Council Member Runels, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Lubin, Runels, Dickens, Ferrara, Lady
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 3rd day of December, 2002.

I, JULIE L. RODEWALD, County Clerk-Recorder of the County of San Luis Obispo, do
hereby certify that pursuant to law I did canvass the returns of the votes cast at the above referenced
election in the City of Arroyo Grande on November S, 2002, and that a photocopy of the Statement
of V otes Cast to which this certificate is attached, shows the number of votes cast in said.city for and
against Measure 0-02 and that the totals shown for and against said measure in said city and in each
of the respective precincts therein, are full, true and correct.
MEASURE 0-02: Shall the City of Arroyo Grande upgrade and expand the Fire
Station located on Traffic Way, including adding sleeping
facilities and a training classroom, expanding the apparatus
bay, construction of a federally-required safe medical clean-
up area and a system to remove vehicle exhaust from the
apparatus room, seismic retrofitting to meet current building
safety standards, and installation of tire sprinklers, by issuing
$1,900,000 in general obligation bonds?
