RESOLUTION NO. 3215
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING SELECTION OF A
CONSULTING RRM TO PREPARE A BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT MARKETING STRATEGY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has received a grant
from the State of California. Community Development Block Grant. Program in the
amount of $35,000 for planning and technical assistance to prepare a Business
Development Marketing Strategy; and
-WHEREAS, the City Council approved the use of City General Funds in the
amount of $5,250 to be used as the City1s match for this project, and
WHEREAS, the City Council" authorized staff to solicit consultant proposals to
prepare the Business Development Marketing Strategy; and
WHEREAS, sta~ sent Request for Proposals to six qualified consultants and
received two proposals, reviewing the proposals based on criteria contained in the
RFP; and
. WHEREAS, based on this criteria staff recommends the consulting firm Applied
Development Economics (ADE) is qualified and available to prepare the Business
Development Marketing Strategy based on the scope. of work. bl:ldget and schedule
outlined in the RFP.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande that:
1. The City Council has reviewed and approved the staff recommendation for
selection of Applied Development Economics.
2. The City Council approved the use of City General Funds in the amount of $5,250
and the CDBG grant in the amount of $35,000 for 'payment of the consultant fees.
3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to act on the City1s behalf in
all matters pertaining to this project.
4. The City Manager is authorized to enter into and sign a contract for consultant
services with the consulting firm of Applied Development Economics for
preparation of a Business Development Marketing Strategy.
