R 3208 .' . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 3208 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING CLOSURE OF CITY STREETS AND USE OF CITY PROPERTY FOR THE ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL SATURDAY & SUNDAY, .MAY 24~25, 1997 WHEREAS, Arroyo Grande Village Improvement Association, organizers of the Annual Strawberry Festival, have requested the closure of certain City streets and the use of City property described below for the annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, 1997; and WHEREAS, the . Arroyo Grande Village Improvement "Association will be responsible for organization, cleanup, liability and costs related to the event. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. The following streets shall be closed and the following City property shall be used for the Strawberry Festival, Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, 1997 as follows: a. The use of the parking lots and the Gazebo at the rear and side of City Hall. b. The closure of Branch Street from Traffic Way to Mason Street from 6:00 am, to 6:00 p.m. on both days. c. The. closure of Short Street from Branch Street to Olohan Alley from 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 23,1997 through to 6: p.m. Sunday May 25,1997. d. The closure of Bridge Street from Traffic Way to Branch Street from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days. e. The use of the parking lots along 'Olohan Alley from Mason Street to Bridge Street from 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 23 through 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25. f. Use of the Car Corral from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days. g. The use of Collett Hart Park between Bridge Street and The use of the lawns between Short Street and Mason Street on Nelson Street from 6:00 p.m. Friday May 23 through 6:00 p.m. Sunday May 25th. h. Traffic Way, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days. i. The use of the 5-acre lot next to the Women's Club on W. Branch Street for shuttle parking on both days from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. j. That the Village Improvement Association will adhere to certain requirements and conditions set forth by the Public Works, Police, Building and Fire Department regarding security, traffic control and other applicable conditions of a Temporary Use Permit to be issued by the city. On motion by Council Member Lady , seconded by Council Member Runel~ and by the following roll call vote, to wit: A YES: Council Members Lady, Runels, Tolley, Fuller, and Mayor Dougall NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 25th day of March, 1997.
