RESOLUTION NO. 3491
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE ACCEPTING THE CERTIFICATES
OF THE COUNTY CLERK - RESULTS OF CANVASS OF
ALL VOTES CAST AT THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD
NOVEMBER 7, 2000 IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
WHEREAS, on November 7,2000, a General Election was held in the County of San
Luis Obispo and the City of Arroyo Grande; and,
WHEREAS, included on the ballot for said General Election was a listing of candidates
for one (1) Mayor, two (2) Members of the City CounCil, one (1) City Clerk, one (1) City
Treasurer, and one ballot measure ("Measure R-2000") for the City of Arroyo Grande in
its scheduled General MuniCipal Election; and,
WHEREAS, the San Luis Obispo County Clerk canvassed the returns of the votes cast
at said General Election held on November 7,2000, and has certified the results; a copy
of which is attached and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande does hereby accept the Certificates of the County Clerk- Results of Canvass of
All Votes Cast in the City's General MuniCipal Election appearing on the November 7,
2000 General Election Ballot (Exhibit "A").
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to
each of the persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and
authenticated; that the .City Clerk shall administer to each person elected the Oath of
Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them
subscribe to it and file it in the Administrative Services Department. Each and all of the
persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have
been elected.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
On motion by CounCil Member Tolley, seconded by Council Member Dickens, and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Tolley, Dickens, Runels, Ferrara, and Mayor Lady
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 4th day of December, 2000
