The City Council met in regular adjourned meeting with .Mayor de Leon
presiding. Upon roll call, Council Members Spierling, Gallagher, Schlegel and
Millis reported present.
STUDY SESSION RE. PROPOSED REVISED BUSINESS LICENSE ORDINANCE
Administrator Butch reviewed with'the Council proposed revisions to the
1964 Business License Code. He reviewed the major changes and incidental changes
in the Ordinance, as well as a suggested overall forty percent (408) increase. in
the Business License fee.
There was discussion on regulation of vending machine use by minors. It
was suggested that a letter be written to the. Department of Alcmholic Beverage
Control to ask them what could be done in the regulation of vending machines
which sell cigarettes.
There was also discussion on charging a Business License fee on every face
of:a billboard.
Representatives from ..the Central Business District expressed concern over
the proposed license increase,. stating. they also have. an assessment which they
;are. required to.pay for off-street parking.
After.a great deal of discussion, the Council instructed.Administrator
Butch to review the rates for possible revisions.
On. motion. of Councilman Millie,. seconded by Councilman Schlegel and.unani-
mously.carried, the. meeting adjourned at. 5:35 P.M.
