R 4341 RESOLUTION NO. 4341
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING ACTION MINUTES
OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 36814 and 40801 provide that the City Clerk is
to maintain a record of the proceedings or minutes of the City Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, the statutes do not specify in what form or style the minutes must be as
long as the subject of the proceedings and the final actions are recorded; and
WHEREAS, all City Council minutes, video, and audiotapes are available to the public
upon request for viewing at City Hall at no charge and duplicate copies are available
upon receipt of cost pursuant to the City's Master Fee Schedule; and
WHEREAS, all City Council meetings are broadcast live on cable television and the
City's website, and rebroadcast three times a day over the course of a week; and
WHEREAS, the retention of video and audio recordings of City Council meetings,
pursuant to the City's adopted Records Retention Schedule, provides an exact
transcript of all actions and statements made by Council Members, staff, and public;
and
WHEREAS, the establishment of action minutes of City Council proceedings will
provide a more cost - effective form of recording official City Council proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council also serves as the Redevelopment Agency Board of
Directors.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande hereby authorizes the preparation of action minutes for all meetings of the City
Council and Redevelopment Agency Board of Directors.
On motion by Council Member Brown, seconded by Council Member Costello, and by
the following roll call vote:
AYES: Council Members Brown, Costello, Guthrie, Ray and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 22 day of February 2011.
