R 4390 RESOLUTION NO. 4390
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE ALTERING THE SAFETY SHOE POLICY
FOR DESIGNATED PART -TIME POSITIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande ( "City ") has hired part-time employees whose
positions require safety shoes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City to allow designated
part-time employees to charge their safety shoes to the City account at a designated
provider as hereinafter specified;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande that:
1. A $150 annual safety shoe allowance was established for the part-time positions
of Maintenance Worker, Custodian, and Assistant/Associate /Senior Engineer on
August 11, 2010.
2. The safety shoes must be worn during all hours where there is a need for such
shoes or as required by the Department Director.
3. Safety shoes must be purchased during the month of July (with the exception of
the current fiscal year when they may be purchased in August or later for new
hires). Employees may charge their safety shoes to the City account at the
designated provider. Only one purchase will be allowed per fiscal year.
This Resolution shall become effective as of August 24, 2011.
On motion of Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Brown, and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Guthrie, Brown, Costello, Ray, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 23 day of August 2011.
