SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2011
12:00 P.M.
CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM, 300 EAST BRANCH STREET
ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA
Attendees: Mayor Ferrara, Council Member Brown, Council Member Costello, City Manager
Adams; City Attorney Carmel, City, Clerk Wetmore, Director of Community Development
McClish, Director of Administrative Services Kraetsch, Director of Recreation and Maintenance
Services Perrin, Chief of Police Annibali, and Five Cities Fire Authority Fire Chief Hubert.
1. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment was received.
2. MEETING WITH ASSEMBLYMAN KATCHIK ACHADJIAN
Council members and staff met with Assemblyman Achadjian to discuss State issues affecting
the City and potential assistance regarding State funding and legislation.
Assemblyman Achadjian provided an update on legislative issues being discussed in
Sacramento. Staff then provided updates and input to Assemblyman Achadjian on the following
issues currently impacting the City: -
- Elimination of Redevelopment Agencies(Adams/Kraetsch)
- State Realignment Program (Annibali)
- Public Records Act requests (Carmel/Wetmore)
- Impact of changes to State COPS funds on potential Police consolidation (Adams)
- Oceano Dunes as it relates to renewal of Agreement with State Parks (Hubert)
- Regional Water Quality Control Board regulations for stormwater management/permits
(McClish) ,
- Grants for creek restoration.projects-(McClish)
Assemblyman Achadjian encouraged staff to keep him informed on all of these issues and to
forward copies to him of any correspondence sent by the City to State agencies so that he could
provide input as appropriate.
No formal action was taken.

Mayor Ferrara adjourne especial meeting at 1:25 p.m.
