A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DESIGNATING A REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA IN CONNECTION
WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE ARROYO GRANDE REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AND DIRECTING THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO FORMULATE A
PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT AREA
;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande is activating a Redevelopment \
Agency for the City of Arroyo Grande; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33310 of the California Community Redevelopment Law
(CCRU Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 et seq., the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande may designate areas within the incorporated limits of the City as
redevelopment survey areas; and
WHEREAS, Section 33213 of the CCRL permits the legislative body of a community, by
ordinance, to authorize the redevelopment of an area within its territorial limits by another
community if such area is contiguous to such other community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council requires a study of a Survey Area to determine if a
Redevelopment Project within such Survey Area is feasible; and
WHEREAS, Section 33322 of the CCRL authorizes the selection of one or more project
areas by the Planning Commission and further directs that the Planning Commission shall
formulate a Preliminary Plan for the redevelopment of each selected project area; and
WHEREAS, this City Council desires to designate as a Redevelopment Survey Area, in
connection with the proposed Redevelopment Plan, that area as shown on the map
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby resolves as
follows:
Section 1: The City Council hereby designates as a Redevelopment Survey Area that area
within the incorporated limits of the City and those certain portions of the City's sphere
of influence located within unincorporated County territory as shown on the map attached
hereto as Exhibit" A" and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2: The City Council finds that the Redevelopment Survey Area shown on Exhibit
" A" requires study to determine if a redevelopment project or projects within said area are
feasible.
Section 3: The City Council hereby directs the Planning Commission to formulate a
Preliminary Plan and related documents for the redevelopment of each selected project
area.

Section 4: The City Council hereby directs staff to commence discussions with County
staff with respect to inclusion of certain County territory within the proposed Arroyo
Grande Redevelopment Project Area.
