RESOLUTION NO. 4446
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE RESTRUCTURING THE RECREATION AND
MAINTENANCE SERVICES CITY DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, an operational assessment has determined the Divisions of the Recreation
and Maintenance Services Departments have unique missions; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Maintenance Services Director will be retiring in July
2012; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City .of Arroyo Grande ("City") deems it in the best
interest of the City to eliminate the Recreation and Maintenance Services Department;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City to create a
Recreation Services Department with a Director position to administer and coordinate
recreation services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City to create a
Maintenance Services Department with a Director position to administer and coordinate
maintenance services; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande does hereby eliminate the Recreation and Maintenance Services Department
and creates a Recreation Services Department and a Maintenance Services
Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become effective as of July 1,
2012.
On motion of Council Member Ray, seconded by Council Member Brown, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Ray, Brown, Guthrie, Costello, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 24th day of April, 2012.
