RESOLUTION NO. 3103
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING EXECUTION OF
THE PROPOSITION 116 FUND TRANSFER AGREEMENT
FOR THE ARROYO GRANDE HIGH
SCHOOL/MARGARET HARLOE ELEMENTARY
i SCHOOL PROJECT

L WHEREAS, in June 1990, California Voters passed Proposition 116, the Rail
Transportation Bond Act, which allocated $10.1 million to San Luis Obispo County; and
WHEREAS, qualifying programs under Proposition 116 include bicycle projects to improve
safety and co.i1Venience to bicycle commuters, and pedestrian improvements to facilitate
pedestrian commuter travel; and
WHEREAS, there are children and staff members commuting to the Arroyo Grande High
School and Margaret Harloe Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande City Council has reviewed the Arroyo Grande High School
and Margaret Harloe Elementary School bicycle and pedestrian access improvement project;
and
WHEREAS, bicycle and pedestrian improvements are needed to provide safe and
convenient routes; and
WHEREAS, there is community support to provide safe bicycle and pedestrian access for
the children and citizens of Arroyo Grande; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande approved the Arroyo Grande
- High School and Margaret Harloe Elementary School project and supported the application
to provide Proposition 116 funds for the project on August 25, 1992; and
WHEREAS, on February 19, 1992, the California Transportation Commission approved and
allocated $206,410 of the Proposition 116 funds to complete the Arroyo Grande High School
and Margaret Harloe Elementary School bicycle and pedestrian access improvement.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande approves the execution of the Fund Transfer Agreement for Arroyo Grande High
School and Margaret Harloe Elementary School bicycle and pedestrian access improvement
project.
